Getting Ready for a Scuba Diving Vacation
A scuba diving vacation is one of the better ways to relax, enjoy life, enjoy the nature’s beauty, and treat yourself to a one of a kind experience. So, if you are planning to hit the beach and take a dive, here are the things you should follow:
· Get a scuba diving certification
If you already have accomplished scuba diving lessons and received scuba diving certification, then you can skip this part. But if you don’t, you should read this.
Getting a scuba diving certification is a must if you want to go on a scuba diving vacation. You cannot dive unless you have a certificate that you successfully completed a scuba diving course; and learned everything you need know about scuba diving (the risks, safety, equipment, and theory).

· Plan early
Like any other vacation, you should plan ahead of time. 2 to 4 months would be enough to get everything ready.
During your planning, you should take note of the following:
Destination – Determine where you want to go as early as possible. Make a short list of different destinations where you can take your scuba diving vacation. Select you destination based on the climate, budget, distance, and skill level.
Booking – Make your booking early as well. Call or visit websites of the different destinations you are considering. If you prefer going with travel agents, then you can get a complete scuba diving vacation package. Inquire on specific details such as package, itineraries, facilities, and everything you want to know.
Gear – It is important to prepare for your scuba diving gear early. If you want to shop, shop early and go with your budget. If you prefer to rent gears, then you should ask the resort or your travel agent if there are rentals available at the location. (Most often, scuba diving resort has at least one rental shop for your convenience.)
Get covered – Everyday, there is a change that something might end up wrong so make sure you get a travel insurance or dive insurance before leaving. Check on your insurance policy if you are already covered.
Travel light – You don’t have to bring your notebook, it’s a vacation. You also don’t have to bring jewelries; they will only stay at your hotel room anyway. The point is, do not carry things you don’t even need. Bring only the necessary: enough clothes, your gear, travel documents, and some personal items.
· Get fit
Diving is exhausting even for a short time, so make sure you are fit to take on the dive. Exercise, get enough rest, eat healthy foods, and stay happy. You do these not only in preparation for your scuba diving vacation but also for your health.
· Make necessary precautions
Vacation must start good and must end better. So do not forget to keep your things organized because you don’t want to go home loosing some of your gears. Do not forget to stay safe because you will never know what will happen to you on your vacation. And do not forget to enjoy and savor the experience of your scuba diving vacation because you surely would like to do it over and over again.
