Gears and Gadgets You Need for Scuba Diving
Scuba diving is an addictive sport but you must have to have gears and gadgets to keep this addiction safe. Here are the things you need and must have in order to enjoy your every dive into the deep:
· Wetsuit
If you intend to dive on a moderate to warm waters, then wetsuit is a must. This will not only keep your body temperature normal, it also keep you from elements such as sea urchins that could harm you while in the water. Each wetsuit is designed according to the type of climate. And designs are determined on the thickness of the neoprene material.
· Snorkel
Snorkel is necessary if you want to conserve your air tank supply during shallow dives.
· Hoods and mitts
Hoods keep your head protected just like wetsuits protect your body. Mitts also function the same. Both keep your head and hands’ temperature normal.
· Buoyancy Control Device (BCD)
Maintaining your body’s buoyancy level at the surface and underwater maybe difficult without BCD, therefore you need it.
· Fins
Try swimming without fins 25 feet underwater and you will know how important fins are.
· Mask
One of the reasons why you are into this sport is the privilege to see the different underwater sceneries. But this is impossible if you don’t wear masks. Masks will also let you see clearly where are you going underwater. Goggles are not appropriate since it cannot hold water pressure like masks.
· Boots
Boots are needed if you are diving on cold water. This will protect your skin from frostbite.
· Tanks
One of the most important things you must have before you dive is the air tank. Check and fill your tanks to make sure you have sufficient supply of air underwater. A reserve tank is a must as well.
· Weight belt
Since your body has the natural tendency to float on water, you need something that will keep you underwater. Weight belt is the right gear for it.
· Lights
Lights are especially important in case you dive on murky or dark waters. Many divers, both experienced and inexperienced, can become disoriented in this situation. Make sure you bring one with you.
· Bags
To put all your gears in one place, you need to have your scuba bag with you. The cost ranges from $50 up to $200 depending on the size and the brand.
· Sea scooters/sea gliders
To navigate underwater faster, you got to have sea scooters or sea scooters.
· Dive float, knives, flashlights, collection bag, and sheath
These will provide added safety to your dive. In case you are caught up in a situation where you need to use have any of these, is it far better to come prepared.
