What advice would you give to an adult who has no musical background but wants to sing in a Church choir?

What advice would you give to an (age 34) adult who has no musical background (other than being a lover of music and listening to it constantly) but wants to sing in a Church choir?

What should this person do? They are not sure if they would be capable of singing or not. They *might* be, but are not sure.

They want to try. But they don’t want to embarres themselves.

  1. Everyone starts somewhere. Try it and usually your choir director can help teach you some things to train your voice for things you may not be able to sing as well. Don’t worry about it, just make an attempt to do your best.
