Seven Organic Skin Care Tips for Fall and Winter

Fall and winter exact the harshest seasonal treatment on our skin. The skin needs extra care during these seasons to keep it moisturized. To help you keep your skin healthy and radiant through the holiday season, here are a few fall and winter organic skin care tips, to help you welcome the New Year feeling and looking good.

1. Drink Water Frequently

Drinking lots of water will help you to hydrate your skin. Take a bottle of water, tea or juice with you when you go outside of your home. When it’s cold, hot herbal tea can do wonders. Drinking these can help your skin maintain a healthy glow even during the coldest winter’s day.

2. Exfoliate Regularly to Remove Dead Skin Cells

Remove dead skin cells with a body or facial scrub to keep your skin feeling fresh. Expensive products aren’t necessary. There are various exfoliation recipes you can use at home using items you find in your kitchen.

3. Apply Organic Products to Moisturize

After you exfoliate your skin, the next step is to moisturize it. There are various organic skin moisturizers that are made from natural ingredients. These are free of harsh chemical preservatives that can harm your skin rather than help protect it.

4. Always Apply Sunscreen

Just because summer is over doesn’t mean that you should not apply sunscreen when going out. Use sunscreen with SPF 15 or more. There are many sunscreens containing organic ingredients available today. Some sunscreens also act as moisturizers, thus hitting two birds with one stone. Protect your skin from the harsh environment with a good sunscreen.

5. Wear Gloves

When your mother made a fuss about wearing gloves in the winter, she knew what she was talking about. Don’t leave home in the cold without a pair of gloves. Select gloves that are made of organic material like hemp. Gloves will protect your skin from the harsh elements as well as keep your hands dry and warm.

6. Use an Organic Oil Bath

An organic oil bath can hydrate your skin as well as relax you. For instance, relax your body and calm your senses while nourishing your skin with a lavendar bath. To wash away the stress of a tiring day at the office or shopping at the mall, simply add a few drops of the oil to your bath.

7. Use Organic Lip Balm to Protect Your Lips

Your lips will often get chapped during fall and winter. This is because both the use of indoor heaters and the cold elements themselves can cause lips to chap. The best way to avoid chapping is to use an organic lip balm. Always keep one in your pocket or purse. After all, you can never be sure when you’ll need one. If you’ve suffered from chapped lips, then you know lip balm is something you should never be without.
