How To Contact Your Ex After A Break Up

If you want to get your ex back you will need to contact them to discuss the relationship and this isn’t always easy because it can feel very awkward. A lot of people get this wrong and end up scaring their ex away. The best approach is a subtle and slow one. First off it is better to give them space for a few weeks before you contact them.

This will give time for any animosity in the relationship to pass over. The best way to make the original contact with them would either be a simple email or text message. People often miss or don’t read emails so I think a text message would be better. Emails often get lost amongst spam emails plus a lot of people don’t check their emails anywhere near as much as they check their phone.

Just ask them how they are in the message, keep it simple and don’t put any pressure on them. If they reply then just take things as they come and when you feel the time’s right, ask them to meet as friends. You should wait a few days before sending any more messages if they don’t reply to you. If you send too many messages you will look needy and this isn’t attractive.

A lot of people will send a text message to their ex and if they don’t get an answer within the first hour send more messages. One message is sufficient to let your ex know that you want to speak to them again. If they find lots of messages from you it tells them you’re desperate.

If after a week you still aren’t hearing anything then you need to try and ring them. This should be the final attempt at getting in touch with them. If you don’t get hold of them and they don’t call back then you should take the hint that they’re avoiding you and move on gracefully. there’s no point in putting yourself through the pain of continually contacting your ex, it would be better to just accept that it’s over.
