Most schools that offer online courses to undergraduate students also offer graduate programs. The Sloan Consortium finds 65% have graduate courses and 44% have masters programs. These online programs often have the exact curriculum as the school’s on campus classes and award the same type of degree.
The days of night school being the only option for working professionals who wanted to attend graduate school are gone. Online graduate courses allow working students to keep their current schedule intact and attend class when it’s convenient. Employers are warming up to degrees from online universities. Actually, according to the Sloan Consortium study, more chief executive officers and educational institutions consider online learning just as effective or better than traditional face to face learning.
